Permastore's Royal Approval
The Grand Duke Henri from Luxembourg was one of 400 guests at the opening of the new and largest biogas plants in Kielen, Luxembourg, where the tanks were supplied by Permastore.
PERMASTORE® Glass-Fused-to-Steel digesters were chosen for the anaerobic digestion process as they provide the greatest integrity for containment in this chemically aggressive application and will give a long and secure operation over the life of the project. In addition, the bolted structure of the tanks allowed this part of the plant to be built very quickly, saving time and money.
This important plant in Kielen, takes agricultural waste and energy crops from the 30 farms of the “Natural Gas Keil” farm cooperative and combines it with organic waste, which is then digested in a wet fermentation system at around 50,000 tonnes per year.
The wet gas is then scrubbed into natural gas quality and this “green gas” is fed into the natural gas network. Enough gas is produced by this system to heat approximately 1000 family homes for a whole year.
